This design tool is intended to help you explore the possibilities of shade sails. The models it produces are approximately to scale, but any plans must be approved by an Urban Shadow representative prior to ordering, to ensure that they can be delivered according to our standards for quality and timely manufacturing.
Design Hints
- Consider covering an area with multiple sails fit together like puzzle pieces for a dramatic effect. You can't do that with a steel awning!
- Putting one support pole lower than the rest on each sail will help to ensure proper drainage
- Different sail materials filter different amounts of light. Overlapping sails can block more light and heat around a focused location (such as a patio)
